Umm Al Quwain Ruler, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, unveiled a significant waterfront project in celebration of the UAE's 52nd Union Day. The inaugural ceremony marked the commencement of the Umm Al Quwain Creek Waterfront Development, a venture aimed at enhancing the emirate's leisure and hospitality offerings.
The initial phase of the project encompasses a diverse range of amenities, including retail shops, cafés, restaurants, a 2 km-long walkway, marina promenades, a yacht club, and an open theatre. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, accompanied by Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, the Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, along with other dignitaries and senior officials, undertook an extensive tour of the facilities. During their visit, they also assessed the progress of the project's second phase.
As part of the UAE National Day celebrations, spectators, including senior figures and officials, were treated to a thrilling air show at the Creek Waterfront featuring F-16 and Mirage-2000 aircraft. The festivities continued with a mesmerizing aerobatic display by the Emirates Knights team, illuminating the emirate's skies in the vibrant colors of the national flag.
The Umm Al Quwain Creek Waterfront Development is poised to become a pivotal and appealing tourist destination within the emirate. Aligned with the strategic plan of Umm Al Quwain’s government and the sustainable blue economy strategy, the project aims to contribute to the emirate's sustainable development. By providing modern infrastructure, it aspires to lay the foundation for a prosperous economic future in Umm Al Quwain.
